Wind farm operations ramping up
The Stockyard Hill Wind Farm project team is working through passing its third grid connection hold point in October that allows it to test wind farm output up to 286MW into the National Electricity Market (NEM). Hold points are assessed by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO).
Stockyard Hill Wind Farm General Manager, Jackson Hill, said the Stockyard Hill Wind Farm has been working through the hold point testing program since its initial hold point test was approved in July.
"Turbines became operational in the east sector of the wind farm initially, with turbines in the south and then west coming online on as further hold points are passed, with the north sector of the wind farm being the final turbines coming online," Jackson said.
"The project will continue to proceed with the testing process at several incremental output levels until full capacity is achieved."
Jackson said the entire project team were delighted to be witnessing the realisation of its hard work and planning. Stockyard Hill is a mammoth project that will be instrumental in providing sustainable energy to residences throughout the region.
