About Us

The Stockyard Hill Wind Farm (SHWF) is located approximately 35 km west of Ballarat in Victoria's central highlands.

The project boundary extends to five kilometres south of Beaufort and approximately four kilometres north of Skipton.

In October 2010, the Victorian Minister for Planning granted approval for development of Stockyard Hill Wind Farm and all of the associated planning permits. A Planning Amendment was later approved in June 2017.

Stockyard Hill Wind Farm commenced construction in early 2018, with the first export of energy in July 2021. Commissioning and practical completion of the project was achieved in September 2022 with the wind farm producing up to 511 MW of clean, renewable energy since this date.

The wind farm connects to the 500kV national electricity grid via a 132kV transmission line and the Haunted Gully Terminal Station south of Lismore.

Stockyard Hill Wind Farm is owned by Palisade and Aware Super (49%), Nebras Power (49%) and Goldwind (2%).

The wind farm is managed by Palisade Integrated Management Services.

Goldwind provides ongoing Operations and Maintenance services to SHWF under a long-term agreement.

Electricity and Large-scale Generation Certificates generated are sold under a long-term offtake agreement with Origin Energy Limited.
